I wasn’t happy with my body.
So I did what everyone said to do - I joined the gym. I counted reps. I logged sets. I pushed myself through workouts I hated. And nothing changed.
Not my body. Not my happiness. Not the way I felt about myself.

Then I found pole. From the very first spin, I realised this wasn’t exercise as I knew it.
The gym was about punishment. Pole was about progress.
Not “how many squats can I do?”
But “how many tricks can I learn, how many moves can I link together?”
And here’s the thing: every time I tried, I got a little better. Repetition wasn’t boring anymore. It was addictive.
The more I practiced, the stronger I felt. The more moves I learnt, the prouder I became. And with every spin, every climb, every moment off the ground — I felt free.
That confidence and freedom started to show up everywhere in my life.
I knew others needed this too.
So I started teaching in my parents’ garage.
Two poles. A few curious friends.
And an energy the walls couldn’t hold.
That was the start of The Pole Room.

That energy grew fast. Soon the garage walls couldn’t hold it. With Andy — my partner in life and business — we knew it was time to take a bigger leap.
That leap landed us on Shark Tank Australia.
Terrifying. Exciting. But worth it - because we weren’t asking for permission.
We were showing the world what we already knew: pole dancing isn’t just exercise, it’s an experience that makes you feel stronger, prouder, and more alive.

For 90 minutes we stood in front of investors, making the case for something most people had never seen inside a fitness space.
Our message was simple: Pole isn’t just another workout.
It’s fun. It’s addictive. It’s the opposite of boring gyms and repetitive routines.
We weren’t asking for permission.
